Q: What are some good microwave recipes?
I know the recipe for a microwave brownie and chocolate cake. I was wondering if anyone knows any simple microwave recipes.
A: ~HERE’S A GOOD ONE~

Microwave Time: 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes
2 eggs

2 tomato slices
2 to 4 slices of thinly sliced fresh mozarella

Q: Any recipes for potatoes in a microwave or is that too weird?
I have potatoes but I’m lazy to make anything that will take much time. Does anyone have a quick microwave recipe?
A: Oh certainly, quick and easy…………no worries. If you want a baked potato, pierce the skin with your fork all over the potato then set in on your Micro plate and cook for 6-8 minutes. If you want mashed potatoes, cut up your potatoes into quarterly sections, drizzle some EVOO, salt, pepper and butter, cover the dish with saran wrap with a venting sequence, cook for 7-12 minutes, depending on how many potatoes you have in the dish. Then do your typical addition of milk, butter and mashing of the taters…………..If you want Herb Roasted Potatoes, then cut whatever potatoes you have in 1/2, drizzle with EVOO, S&P, Italian seasoning, garlic and onion powder with a couple of dollops of unsalted butter. Microwave on High for 8 minutes, stir, then cook for a final 2-5 minutes, depending on the quantity of potatoes that you have. Good Luck……..I love the Microwave for certain things.

Q: Where can you find genuine 1980’s microwave recipes online?
I want to throw an 80s style dinner party, and to complement my black nylon (so static!) shoulder-padded Jerry Hall-esque LBD, I thought that I should attempt to serve food only cooked with the microwave (alongside prawn cocktail and Blue Nun), but I can’t find anything on the internet. Can someone help?
A: do you really want a micro meal? because it was very 80s to not only use the microwave but to use the frozen microwavable meals. perhaps you can micro wave the 80s pizza rolls, tuna helper and put out some microwavable pot pies and pizza. because finding meals to microwave isnt that hard. try this link: http://busycooks.about.com/od/microwaveovens/a/microwavemagic.htm

A: Microwaves kill food. Don’t use them to cook with.
Q: Good microwave rice recipes?
I’m at uni, and all I have is a kettle, fridge and a microwave/grill/oven combo. I can cook rice in the microwave, but does anyone know any recipes or ingredients to add that will be more interesting than just eating plain rice? Preferably quick, cheap and not requiring much washing up. Thanks!
A: Absolutely!
You can use, you know them Ramen Noodles and how they come with the packet of flavoring that you put on the noodles? You can use that packet on your rice instead!
Also, you can add butter, garlic salt, and add a veggie to the rice like corn or peas.
I also love Goya Sazon seasoning. You can mix one packet into your rice and add a pinch of Adobe seasoning and it will taste flavorful and more ethnic like Hispanic rice.
Q: Does any-one know of a book or website that has basic step by step microwave recipes.?
If it’s a book tell me a website or shop where I can get it from. I want recipes like soup, scrambled eggs, nachos, etc
I live in Australia
A: Your microwave actually (if new) comes with recipes as well as how to use the oven. If you have the appliance “secondhand” you may be able to go online – look up the make and model and download (for free) the guide that may have recipes.
Q: college dorm microwave recipes?
im looking for cheap and quick dinners, snacks or desserts.
im especially interested in recipes for desserts.
A: A couple I used when all I had was a microwave…
you said you wanted desserts…
1. Take a pear and cut in half. Sprinkle little cinnamon, drizzle with honey(or syrup, but honey tastes better with the pear). Heat a couple minutes (depends on microwave) Very good.
2. Buy some apples and slice into wedges. Buy some caramels and place in bowl. Heat your caramels until melted. Stir and serve with apples for dipping.
3. Melt chocolate in micro, use to dip strawberries or bananas or store-bought poundcake-cut into squares. Lay them on foil or wax paper to dry. (or dip as fondue style)
non-dessert
1. Microwave enchiladas – frozen burritos, enchilada sauce, cheese, black olives
Place burritos in microwaveable dish, pour sauce over, top with cheese and olives. Heat as directed on burrito pkg. maybe a few minutes longer. Be careful not to overcook-burritos can get hard.
If you don’t find what you want here, I googled a couple microwave dessert sites. Here are a few links :

Q: Any suggestions for microwave recipes?
We are going to have our kitchen redecorated… and I probably won’t have a kitchen for a good couple of weeks
However, I’ll be able to plug my microwave anywhere in the house!! I have never really used it for cooking before. Any repcipes plzzz??
A: The 6 minute per pound does not apply to muscular roasts (chuck, brisket, etc.), which are cooked in liquid to tenderize. The liquid “hides” the meat and changes cooking time. Once liquid around roast is hot, it takes approximately 55-60 minutes per pound on Low power (30%) or 45-50 minutes on Medium power (50%) to tenderize roasts. Semi-muscular beef roasts (loin, eye or top round, rump, etc.) cook best on a rack, both conventionally and in the microwave. They do not need liquid to tenderize, but cook best on a slow heat such as 30-50%. High power levels do not allow adequate time for development of tenderness and flavor. Cook on High power (100%) for a few minutes to seal in juices, then reduce power, and cook for 16-22 minutes per pound. This sauce thickened makes a wonderful gravy. The onion is delicious, but may be discarded if desired. Mashed potatoes instead of pieces of potato are great also!
3 lb. chuck roast
1 cup catsup
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 peeled onion
12 small red potatoes, peeled and halved
8 carrots, scrubbed and halved (or baby carrots)
1-2 cups water
Mix catsup, pepper, salt, garlic powder. Coat roast on both sides. Add 1-2 cups of water to nearly cover roast. Heat, covered, on High power (100%) for 10-15 minutes, or until liquid is beginning to boil. Reduce power to 50% power. Cook, covered, for 30 minutes. Turn meat over, add vegetables. Cook on Medium power (50%) for additional 1 to 1 1/2 hours until meat and vegetables are tender.
Beef Paprika
1 3/4 pounds boneless beef sirloin, trimmed and cut into 1″ cubes
1 whole onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon browning powder, optional
2/3 cup catsup
1/4 cup beef bouillon
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup water
Place meat, onion, and garlic in 2-quart casserole in circle fashion. Dampen and sprinkle with browning powder. Cover and cook at 100% power for 4-6 minutes. Rearrange once, sprinkle with more browning powder, and cook additional 4-5 minutes until meat is nearly done. Drain juices and set meat aside. In 4-cup microwave measure, whisk flour and water thoroughly. Add catsup, bouillon, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and spices, whisking well. Heat at 100% power for 4-6 minutes until bubbling and thickened, stirring once or twice. Stir into meat and heat at 50% power for 10-15 minutes until very hot throughout. Serve over buttered noodles.
Picante Chicken
Foods cooked in the microwave need standing time to finish cooking properly. They have on-going cooking after the microwave shuts off. Skinless chicken pieces will also reduce fat content of this recipe.
1 (3 pound) broiler-fryer chicken, rinsed and cut up
1 thinly sliced lemon
1 thinly sliced onion
1/3 cup Picante Sauce
1/2 cup catsup
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Place chicken in shallow microwave baking dish, meatiest pieces to the outside so they will receive more concentrated microwaves and cook more easily. Top with lemon and onion slices. Cook at 100% power for 10-12 minutes. While chicken is cooking, mix Picante, catsup, soy sauce and brown sugar. Drain liquids from chicken. Spoon sauce over chicken. Microwave, partially covered, for additional 10-15 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Green Beans and New Potatoes
I like fresh green beans cooked until very soft. For more crisp beans, simply put beans and potatoes in at the same time and cook 12 minutes at 100% power. Lower to 50% power and cook for an additional 10-20 minutes until vegetables are to your liking.
1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans
1 tablespoon bacon grease, optional
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon beef-flavored bouillon granules
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 pounds small new potatoes
Dash salt
Dash pepper
Place beans, water, bacon grease, bouillon and garlic into a microwave 2-3 quart casserole. Cook, covered, for 9 minutes at 100% power. Stir and cook 5-10 minutes at 50% power. Add potatoes, circle fashion, on top of beans. Cook for 6 minutes at 100% power. Add salt and pepper. Cover and cook an additional 15 minutes at 50% power. Stir gently before serving.
Q: Can anyone give me a few simple microwave recipes?
Nothing that requires too much time or too many ingredients. Maybe something that’s just slapped together and tastes good.
A: Get a potato, stab it several times with a fork, then put it in on high for ten minutes. Maybe if you’re microwave is a low wattage, it’ll need fifteen minutes.
Then, open a can of baked beans. If you like, drop in some raisins or bits of tomato. I’m a vegetarian, so I will also add quorn sausage chopped up. It probably wouldn’t work with real meat though. Anyhow, heat the beans and whatever else in a covered bowl in the microwave for two minutes.
Then, cut the potato in half, put it on a plate, pour the beans onto the plate with it, put everything back into the microwave, and heat for two minutes more. Then it’s ready to eat!
It’s good to add butter (and cheese!) to the potato, and if you have any herbs you really like, sprinkle them over the top.
I eat potato in this way once or twice a week- it’s a quick, easy meal, and it tastes good.
Hmmm- I see other people are saying five minutes for baked potatos. I like to eat really big ones though, so I guess that’d explain the time difference. A small potato may need less time to cook, but if it tastes raw, just put it back into the microwave and give it two or three more minutes.
Q: Dorm room microwave meal recipes?
When University Dining Service food seemed like it couldn’t get any more boring and you had eaten your fill of Ramen noodles and Easy Mac, what recipes got you through the day?
(You have a microwave, minifridge, small knife, and running water to work with here)
